Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with "clinically confirmed Parkinson's disease" based on the 2015 Movement Disorder Society (MDS) diagnostic guidelines, at any age or gender, whose disease is at an early-to-moderate stage (Hoehn & Yahr stage 2.5 or below)
- People diagnosed with "clinically probable Parkinson's disease" based on the same 2015 MDS guidelines, at any age or gender, also at an early-to-moderate stage (Hoehn & Yahr stage 2.5 or below)
- People with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) — a condition that develops in adulthood (after age 30), progresses over time, and involves either movement difficulties that respond poorly to Parkinson's medication, or problems with balance and coordination, along with at least one sign of the body's automatic functions not working properly (such as bladder control problems or a significant drop in blood pressure when standing up)
- People with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), diagnosed according to specific Chinese clinical guidelines for this condition
- Healthy individuals who are matched in age and gender to the patient groups in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not give their consent to take part in the study
- People whose Parkinson's-like symptoms are caused by something other than Parkinson's disease itself, such as stroke, blood vessel problems, or medication side effects
- People with severe memory or thinking problems, Alzheimer's disease, ALS (also known as motor neurone disease), or other degenerative brain or nervous system conditions
