Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old
- Both men and women are eligible
- People who have Parkinson's disease and have already had surgery to place electrodes in a specific area of the brain (the subthalamic nucleus), connected to a device called PERCEPT™
- Alternatively, people who have epilepsy that has not responded well to medication and are already undergoing a pre-surgical assessment that involves brain activity monitoring through a method called stereo-EEG
- People in the epilepsy group who have at least one electrode monitoring a specific deep brain region (the basal ganglia or thalamus)
- People who are able to perform a simple physical movement task
- People who are covered by a social security or health insurance scheme
- People who are willing and able to provide written, informed consent
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not able to give their own informed consent
- People who are under a legal protection order or judicial protection measure
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have a serious or currently unstable physical or psychiatric illness
