- People aged 18 to 85 who are scheduled to have surgery to remove part or all of the oesophagus (food pipe), or part or all of a lung.
Who may not be able to join:
- People for whom regional anaesthesia (numbing a specific area of the body with nerve-blocking injections) is not medically suitable.
