Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder or Social Anxiety Disorder, confirmed at a screening visit.
• People who score above a certain level on a measure of social avoidance behaviour, confirmed during a phone screening.

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose psychiatric medication or dosage has changed in the past 3 months.
• People who have ever been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
• People who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder within the past 12 months.
• People who have been diagnosed with a psychotic-spectrum disorder, such as Schizophrenia.
• People who are pregnant or possibly pregnant.
• People with a medical illness or who are receiving medical treatment that would prevent or interfere with taking part in the study.
• People with a neurological disorder linked to brain damage.
• People with a history of seizures, or a head injury that caused loss of consciousness for more than 5 minutes.
• People with a personal or family history of epilepsy or seizures.
• People who have metal implants or metal objects inside their body (for example, a pacemaker).
