Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer (on the left side of the colon) that cannot be removed by surgery, confirmed by lab testing, and your cancer has specific genetic features called "RAS and BRAF wild-type"
- You are in generally good physical health and able to carry out daily activities (your doctor will assess this using a standard scale)
- Your doctor expects you to live for more than 3 months
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You have not had chemotherapy treatment before for this cancer
- You have not previously been treated with a drug called cetuximab
- Your liver, kidney, and bone marrow are functioning at a reasonably normal level
- If you have had any previous chemotherapy or targeted therapy, it was completed more than 4 weeks ago
- You are willing to take part, are able to follow the study requirements, and are happy to sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- You have serious problems with a major organ such as your heart, liver, or kidneys
- You have been diagnosed with another type of cancer
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding (women who could become pregnant will need to take a pregnancy test)
- You currently have an active infection, either short-term or ongoing
- You have a known history of significant drug allergies or are generally prone to allergic reactions
- You are already taking part in another clinical trial
- Your doctor decides there is another reason why joining this study would not be appropriate for you (confirm with trial site)
