Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected of having, colorectal cancer, bowel polyps (adenoma), inflammatory bowel disease, complications from bowel diverticulosis, or other conditions that require surgical removal of part of the colon or rectum
- People who are scheduled for a planned (non-emergency) colorectal surgical procedure that falls within specific surgical procedure codes used in Denmark (confirm with trial site)

- People who are able to understand and agree to take part in the study (give informed consent)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are having additional major surgeries at the same time, such as liver removal (though removal of individual liver metastases may still be allowed), full stomach removal, major pancreas surgery (though removal of the tail of the pancreas may still be allowed), or kidney or bladder removal
- People who have already taken part in this study before
- People who are known to be pregnant at the time of the study
- People who do not live in Denmark
