Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You have colorectal cancer that has spread locally or come back, and you are scheduled to have surgery
- You are able to have CT and MRI scans
- You are well enough to carry out some daily activities (your doctor will assess your general health using a standard scale, and you need to score 3 or below out of 4)

Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- Anyone who the study doctor feels is not a suitable candidate for the special light-guided surgery and light-based treatment used in this trial (confirm with trial site)
- People who have a condition called porphyria, or who have had an allergic reaction to porphyrins or similar substances (confirm with trial site)
- People who have not been medically cleared to have surgery
- People who have active liver inflammation (hepatitis) or ongoing liver problems, shown by abnormal liver test results above a certain level
- People with serious uncontrolled health conditions, such as an active infection, heart failure, unstable chest pain, an irregular heartbeat, or mental health or personal circumstances that would make it hard to follow the study requirements
- People who are unwilling or unable to follow the study's requirements
- Anyone who the study doctor considers unsuitable to receive the study treatment or procedures for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
