Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had an incomplete spinal cord injury (meaning some function remains below the injury site) affecting the lower back, legs, or lower neck area (specifically C5 to C7 levels)
- People who experience nerve pain every day at a level of at least 4 out of 10 in severity, lasting for 3 or more months
- People who answer "yes" to more than 2 questions on a specific 7-question spinal cord injury pain assessment tool called the SCIPI

- People who are at least one and a half years past the time of their spinal cord injury before the study begins (screening may happen earlier)
- People who have a mobile phone with a working and usable signal
- People who have been on a stable pain medication routine for at least one month
- People who are cleared as suitable for physical activity based on a specific safety scale called the VRWalk
- People who do not experience motion sickness that interferes with daily life
- People who use a wheelchair for at least 75% of their time
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose spinal cord injury is at the C1 to C4 level (upper neck)
- People under the age of 18
- People who were injured less than one year ago
- People who are not able to understand spoken English
- People who are currently in prison
- People who are blind
- People who experience severe motion sickness
