  • People with diabetes or other metabolic or hormonal conditions
  • People with uncontrolled high blood pressure (resting blood pressure above 150/90 mmHg)
  • People with a condition where blood pressure drops significantly upon standing (orthostatic hypotension), or whose systolic blood pressure when standing falls below 100
  • People with thyroid problems (overactive or underactive), abnormal liver function, or reduced kidney function based on blood test results
  • People whose general blood test results fall outside the normal range in a way considered clinically significant by the medical team
  • People who have recently used medications such as anti-anxiety drugs, sleeping pills, benzodiazepines, or antidepressants, unless the dose has been stable for at least 28 days before the screening visit
  • People who have had a serious illness requiring hospital treatment or systemic medication in the last 4 weeks
  • People with any other significant medical condition, mental health condition, drug or alcohol use, or abnormal test result that the investigators believe would interfere with participation
  • People with a score above 28 on the Beck Depression Inventory II, which indicates severe depression that may prevent safe participation in exercise
  • Women who are pregnant
  • People with other conditions, injuries, or disorders that may affect their ability to exercise — such as a history of stroke, breathing problems, traumatic brain injury, orthopaedic injury, or neuromuscular disease
