  • Adults aged 18 or older, either male or female
  • People who are currently on a breathing tube (intubated) and sedated
  • People who are expected to have their breathing tube removed within 48 hours
  • People who have been on a breathing tube for more than 48 hours in total
  • People who are currently a patient in the intensive care unit at Niort hospital
  • People whose trusted person or designated representative has agreed to their participation in the study
  • People who are enrolled in the French social security system

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are known to be pregnant
  • People who, after the fact, have indicated they do not wish to participate
  • People who have been taking antidepressant medication long-term (for more than 3 months)
  • People who are under legal guardianship or curatorship (a form of legal protection over personal or financial decisions)
  • People who are currently detained or deprived of their liberty
  • People who have skin injuries on their hands, feet, or head, such as wounds, redness, burns, pressure sores, or blisters
  • People who are already taking part in another clinical trial
