Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
- People who are currently attending appointments with professionals in the USM (a mental health network).
- People who have an active diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder recorded in their healthcare records, or who meet the criteria for a Major Depressive Episode based on an individual interview assessment.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have another mental health condition alongside depression and are currently in an acute (severe, active) phase of that condition.
- People who are not currently being actively seen and followed up by a professional within the USM.
- People who have difficulties with mobility or travelling to the health centre.
- People who have another condition affecting the brain or central nervous system, such as dementia, a neurodegenerative disease, or a history of severe head injury.
- People who have a serious medical, infectious, or degenerative disease that is not well controlled and that could affect mood-related symptoms.
- People who are considered by their mental health professionals to be at significant risk of suicide, based on clinical interviews.
- People who have any medical, psychological, or social circumstances that could seriously affect their ability to take part in the study.
- People who have been legally determined to lack the capacity to make their own healthcare decisions.
