Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with non-psychotic unipolar Major Depressive Disorder (a form of depression without any psychotic symptoms).
- People who have been in a depressive episode continuously for 12 months or more, or who have had at least 3 separate depressive episodes during their lifetime.
- People who have already tried at least four different types of antidepressant treatments without adequate improvement, as measured by a recognised assessment tool.
- People whose depression medications and treatment plan have remained unchanged for at least 4 weeks before the first study visit.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study.
- People who have other physical conditions, medical issues, social circumstances, or psychological factors that could make it difficult to participate fully or follow the study's requirements (confirm with trial site).
- People who have ever experienced psychotic symptoms during any depressive episode, either now or in the past.
- People who have a brain or central nervous system condition that affects movement, senses, or thinking, or that requires ongoing or intermittent medication.
- People currently assessed as having a significant, acute risk of suicide.
- People with a current diagnosis of substance use disorder or alcohol use disorder who have not been in sustained remission for at least 12 months.
- People currently receiving another form of brain stimulation treatment that could interfere with the device being studied.
- People currently participating in another clinical trial involving an investigational device or investigational medication.
