Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder (a type of serious depression) according to standard medical guidelines
- You experience between 1 and 3 upsetting mental images or "mind pictures" about the future that cause you distress
- You are able to read and understand questionnaires and information about the study
- If you are taking medication, you have been on a stable dose for at least six weeks
Who may not be able to join:

- You currently have, or have previously had, bipolar disorder (a condition involving extreme mood swings)
- You have been identified as having severe difficulties with thinking, learning, or understanding (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently receiving EMDR therapy or a type of therapy called imagery rescripting
- You have other circumstances that could affect your ability to take part, such as a serious physical health condition or plans to move to a different location (confirm with trial site)
