AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms of depression, anxiety, parenting stress, and/or anger (those with lower symptom levels may still be considered based on the research team's judgement)
  • People who are a parent or primary caregiver (of any gender) to a child aged 2 to 5 years old (24 to 71 months)
  • People who currently live in Manitoba, Canada
  • People who are able to take part in check-in sessions (15 to 60 minutes) via Zoom, phone, or direct messaging with a peer coach
  • People who are 18 years of age or older
  • People who are able to understand, read, and speak English
  • People who are willing to complete four questionnaires, each taking about 45 minutes
  • People who have access to an electronic device for watching videos and joining Zoom meetings (the research team may be able to loan a device to a limited number of people who do not have one — confirm with trial site)
  • People whose internet activity can be confirmed as being located within Manitoba, and who are able to provide a photo of themselves alongside a valid piece of Manitoba government-issued identification

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who live outside of Manitoba
  • People whose child is younger than 24 months or older than 71 months (i.e., outside the 2–5 year age range)
  • People who have previously taken part in an earlier BEAM trial
  • People who have experienced self-harm requiring medical attention in the past six months, or a suicide attempt in the past year — unless they are currently working with a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or psychotherapist throughout the duration of the program to address that level of risk (the research team will discuss this during a phone call to help determine whether the program is the right fit)

Note for co-parents: A co-parent (such as the child's other parent, step-parent, grandparent, or other primary caregiver) of an eligible participant's 2–5 year old child may be able to join under a different, less restrictive set of criteria. Co-parents are not subject to the same screening or exclusion criteria — confirm the details directly with the trial site.
