Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are pregnant with a single living baby (or twins) at 16 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy or earlier
• You are 14 years old or older and able to give your own consent to participate
• You have at least one higher-risk factor for high blood pressure in pregnancy, such as: a previous pregnancy with preeclampsia, high blood pressure diagnosed before this pregnancy, diabetes before pregnancy, a twin pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, or an autoimmune condition (such as lupus or antiphospholipid syndrome)
• OR you have two or more moderate-risk factors, such as: this being your first pregnancy, obesity (BMI of 30 or above), being 35 or older at your due date, being of Black race, having a low income, a previous pregnancy with a small or low-birthweight baby or unexplained stillbirth, a gap of more than 10 years between pregnancies, a family history of preeclampsia (mother or sister), or conceiving through IVF
• You are either not currently taking aspirin, or you started taking aspirin for pregnancy-related reasons recently and within specific timing guidelines (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• You have a known allergy to aspirin, or a health condition that makes aspirin unsafe for you (such as stomach ulcers, nasal polyps, asthma triggered by anti-inflammatory medicines, active stomach bleeding, G6PD deficiency, severe liver problems, a bleeding disorder, or a history of weight-loss surgery)
• You are currently taking or plan to take aspirin during pregnancy for a non-pregnancy-related reason, such as a history of stroke or heart attack
• You are under 14 years old
• You are currently being held or confined against your will
• You have been assessed as having a reduced ability to make your own decisions
• An ultrasound has shown a possible major birth defect, a chromosome problem, that the baby has passed away, or you are planning to end the pregnancy
• You are already taking part in another clinical trial that could affect this study's results, without approval from the trial lead
• You plan to give birth at a location outside the study network and your medical records cannot be shared with the study team
• You are carrying twins who share the same inner sac (monoamniotic twins)
• You took part in this same trial during a previous pregnancy
• You are pregnant with triplets or more
