Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been confirmed by a tissue biopsy to have a slow-growing (Grade 1 or Grade 2) neuroendocrine tumour (NET) that started in the digestive system, pancreas, lungs, or an unknown location in the body.
- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body, or has grown in a way that cannot be removed by surgery, and can be seen and measured on scans.
- People whose cancer has been shown to be growing or worsening on scans within the last 6 months, as assessed by the treating medical team.
- People who have already received at least one previous treatment for their cancer through medication (and that treatment was stopped more than 3 weeks ago).
- People who have a reasonable level of physical fitness and ability to carry out daily activities (as rated on a standard medical scale from 0 to 2, where 0 means fully active and 2 means limited but able to care for oneself).
- People whose blood and organ function test results meet the required levels — including adequate red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, liver function, and kidney function (confirm specific numbers with the trial site).
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer is aggressive and requires strong chemotherapy treatment.
- People who have serious or poorly controlled other health conditions that the treating doctor considers would make the trial medication (everolimus) unsafe for them.
- People whose tumour is classified as a Mixed Neuroendocrine–Non-Neuroendocrine Neoplasm (MiNEN) — a specific tumour type that combines different kinds of cancer cells (confirm with trial site).
