  • You have had pain in your lower back, neck, or joints (hip, knee, or shoulder) for 3 months or longer
  • Your pain is at least moderate and affects your daily life and enjoyment, scoring 4 or higher on a simple 0–10 scale
  • You have at least mild depression, based on a short questionnaire score of 5 or higher

Who may not be able to join:

  • You previously took part in certain earlier related research studies run by the same research team (confirm with trial site)

  • You have a serious medical condition that may make participation difficult, such as a stroke in the last 6 months, a recent heart attack or hospital stay for heart failure, or cancer (other than skin cancer) that is currently being treated
  • You have active thoughts of suicide
  • You have severe difficulty with hearing, speech, or thinking/memory that would make participation difficult
