Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (with or without episodes of "freezing" while walking), OR you are a healthy older adult aged 40–80, OR you are a healthy younger adult aged 21–44.
• You are between 40 and 80 years old (for Parkinson's disease and healthy older adult groups) or between 21 and 44 years old (for the healthy young adult group).
• You are able to walk at least 50 meters on your own without using a cane, walker, or other walking aid.
• Healthy older adults must be able to carry out complex daily activities independently, based on reports from a doctor or someone who knows them well.

Who may not be able to join:

• You have a bone, joint, or muscle problem that affects your ability to stand or walk.
• You have a history of conditions that significantly affect movement in your legs or lower body.
• You have vision problems that have not been corrected and that could affect your ability to take part.
• You have a history of vision or inner-ear (balance) problems that could affect your participation.
• You have been diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, Multiple System Atrophy, Alzheimer's disease, any form of dementia, or another brain-degenerative condition other than Parkinson's disease.
• You have a history of seizures, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, or other significant neurological conditions.
• You have a history of muscle or structural problems in your neck or back, including whiplash.
• You have had surgery on your blood vessels, brain, or heart.
• You have unexplained recurring headaches or have had a concussion in the last six months.
• You have moderate to severe hearing loss.
• You are currently pregnant.
• You are assessed as not having sufficient ability to give informed consent to participate (confirm with trial site).
• For certain experiments involving a specific type of electrical stimulation (EVS): you have a history of motion sickness, migraines, or have metal or magnetic devices inside your head, a pacemaker or other implanted device, a deep brain stimulator, or take medications that can cause dizziness.
• For certain experiments (EVS): you have done intense exercise or consumed alcohol in the 24 hours before testing.
• For healthy control participants only: you show any signs of Parkinson's-like symptoms or any degree of cognitive impairment, including mild cognitive impairment or dementia.
• For healthy control participants only: you have an active nervous system, whole-body, or psychiatric condition, or take medications that could affect your thinking, movement, mood, or automatic body functions.
