Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People with a diabetic foot ulcer must have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
- People whose wound is located on the foot or ankle (for diabetic foot ulcers) or on the leg (for venous leg ulcers)
- People whose wound measures between just over 1.0 cm² and 25 cm² (diabetic foot ulcer) or between just over 1.0 cm² and 50 cm² (venous leg ulcer)
- People whose blood circulation to the affected limb meets certain minimum levels, as measured by specific medical tests (confirm with trial site)
- People who are willing and able to follow all requirements of the trial
- People who are willing and able to give their informed consent, or who have a legally authorised representative who can do so on their behalf
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant
- People with diabetes whose blood sugar control (HbA1c) has been measured above a certain level within the 3 months before joining the trial (confirm with trial site)
- People whose wound has already shrunk by more than 30% during the 2-week preparation period before the trial begins
- People whose wound has an active infection, an undrained abscess, or a significant bacterial overgrowth
- People who have a bone infection or involvement of a joint capsule, based on physical examination or medical imaging
- People who have taken certain immune-suppressing or chemotherapy-type medications for 7 or more consecutive days in the 30 days before screening (note: low-dose daily oral steroids below a certain threshold may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently receiving treatment for cancer
- People who have used biological skin substitute products within 14 days of enrolling
- People who have a known allergy to suture (stitching) material
- People whose life expectancy has been assessed by the investigating doctor as less than six months
- People who are currently participating in another clinical research study that has not yet been completed
