Who might be able to join this trial:
- Young people aged 11 to 17 years old at the time of joining the trial
- People who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least 12 months
- People who are not getting enough sleep (less than 8 hours per night for 13–17 year-olds, or less than 9 hours per night for 11–12 year-olds), and who do not have any other sleep disorders or sleep apnea
- People whose HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar control over time) is not within the target range of below 7%
- People who are able to read and speak English
- A caregiver (parent or guardian) who lives with the child at least half of the time and can read and speak English is also required to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other serious health conditions that affect their ability to manage their diabetes
- For the optional brain MRI part of the study: people who have metal implants in their body, or who are unable to lie still for up to 60 minutes, may not be able to take part in that portion (confirm with trial site)
