Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a depressive disorder or an anxiety disorder as their main condition, based on standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
• People who have already tried at least two treatments — either medication or talking therapy — for depression or anxiety that did not work, based on German treatment guidelines
• People aged between 18 and 65 years old
• People who have a sufficient understanding of the German language
• People who are currently taking medication may still be considered, as long as the medication stays the same throughout the treatment period

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are currently at an elevated risk of suicide
• People who have a current problem with substance abuse or dependency on substances such as alcohol or drugs
• People who have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder
• People who have been diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disorder (such as autism spectrum disorder) (confirm with trial site)
• People who have been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder
• People who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder
• People who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder
• People who have a serious physical health condition
