Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma (a specific type of rectal cancer), confirmed through a tissue sample

- People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic disease)
- People whose cancer cannot be surgically removed
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the pelvic area, or for whom pelvic radiation is not medically suitable
- People who have a medical reason that prevents them from receiving any of the following chemotherapy drugs: irinotecan, oxaliplatin, 5-FU, or Capecitabine
- People who currently have another active cancer, except for certain treated or long-resolved cancers such as treated cervical cancer in situ, certain treated skin cancers, or a cancer that has been in complete remission for more than 3 years
- People whose psychological, social, family, or geographical circumstances would make it difficult to follow the study requirements and attend follow-up appointments
- People who are under a legal protection arrangement such as guardianship or curatorship
- People who are deprived of their liberty
