Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with mesothelioma:
- You have been suspected of having, or have already been diagnosed with, pleural mesothelioma (a cancer affecting the lining of the lungs)
- You are being considered for surgery
- You are 18 years of age or older (men and women, including women of childbearing age, are welcome)
- You are able to understand what the study involves and can give your own consent to take part
For people in the comparison group (no mesothelioma):
- You have been confirmed to have a different condition affecting the same area, such as another cancer, an inflammatory condition, or an infection
- You are being considered for surgery
- You are 18 years of age or older (men and women, including women of childbearing age, are welcome)
- You are able to understand what the study involves and can give your own consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- There is no tissue sample (biopsy) available from your procedure
- You are currently pregnant
- You do not wish to sign the consent form agreeing to take part in the study
