Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been newly referred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) Movement Disorders Clinic

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have already been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease before their referral
  • People who are confined to a wheelchair or bed full-time
  • People who do not speak English

Group 2: People recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are a patient at the UIHC Movement Disorders Clinic
  • People who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose Parkinson's disease diagnosis was made more than 6 months ago
  • People who are confined to a wheelchair or bed full-time
  • People who do not speak English
  • People who are currently incarcerated
  • People who are unable to give their own consent to participate in the trial
  • People whose mobile phone cannot support the Fitbit app
