Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 12 to 18 years old
• People who currently use cannabis every day or nearly every day (at least 4 days per week on average)
• People who score 5 or higher on a standard depression questionnaire called the PHQ-9
• People who have access to a smartphone connected to the internet (iPhone or Android)
• People who can provide at least one contact person (such as a family member or friend) who can be reached if there are any safety concerns
• People who provide their own agreement to take part, plus a parent or guardian's agreement if they are under 18 years old
• People who respond to more than half of the app-based check-in prompts during an initial monitoring phase
• People who are not planning to stop using cannabis in the next 3 months
• People whose urine test confirms cannabis use at the start of the study

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have any condition that would prevent them from fully understanding or participating in the study, including being intoxicated at the time of sign-up
• People who use cannabis more than 4 times per day on average
• People who are not able to speak and write English fluently
• People with significant difficulties in thinking or understanding, for example due to active psychosis, intellectual disability, developmental delay, or a condition affecting brain function
• People who currently have a diagnosis of epilepsy
• People who are under the legal care of the government or state (wards of the state)
• People who answer incorrectly on a knowledge check about how quickly the study team responds to safety concerns raised through the app
• People who are unable to wear a Fitbit device
