Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 65 years old
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (a condition causing pain, numbness, or tingling in the hand and wrist)
- People whose Carpal Tunnel Syndrome has been confirmed as mild or moderate through a nerve conduction test (called an EMG)
- People whose ultrasound has shown a specific nerve variation called a bifid median nerve (where the main nerve in the wrist is split into two branches)
- People who have been experiencing typical Carpal Tunnel Syndrome symptoms for at least 3 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of nerve disorders affecting multiple nerves, shoulder nerve problems, thoracic outlet syndrome, or previous wrist surgery
- People with a history of inflammatory arthritis, an underactive thyroid, current pregnancy, rheumatological disorders, or a heart pacemaker or implanted heart device
- People currently taking the blood-thinning medication warfarin, those who have previously had a steroid injection for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, those with injury or a growth at the injection site, those with a known sensitivity to corticosteroids, or those with a skin infection at the injection site
- People with other variations of the median nerve (the main wrist nerve) or a persistent median artery (a blood vessel that remains present in the wrist in some people) (confirm with trial site)
