Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 80 years old, of any gender
- People whose rectal cancer (adenocarcinoma) has been confirmed by laboratory testing of tissue or cell samples, and whose cancer has a specific genetic feature called dMMR/MSI-H, at clinical stage II or III
- People who have not yet received any cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy
- People who are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (as measured by a standard medical scoring tool called ECOG PS score of 0–1)
- People with a life expectancy of at least 3 months
- People whose blood counts and organ function (including heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and bone marrow) meet specific healthy ranges as determined by blood and urine tests (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- People who are willing to participate, sign a consent form, attend follow-up visits, and cooperate with the study requirements
- People whose treating doctor believes they may benefit from the study treatment
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a known allergy to the study drug or any of its ingredients
- People who have already received or are currently receiving chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy
- People who have an active autoimmune disease or a history of autoimmune disease
- People diagnosed with Lynch syndrome
- People with poorly controlled heart conditions, such as moderate-to-severe heart failure, unstable chest pain (angina), or a heart attack within the past year
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with an active infection currently requiring antibiotic treatment
- People who test positive for hepatitis B or hepatitis C
- People who test positive for HIV
- People with other serious health conditions that the treating doctor believes may affect their outlook or survival
- People whom the treating doctor considers unsuitable for the trial for any other reason
