Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adolescents between 12 and 18 years old who a screening professional or current treating practitioner has determined would benefit from a type of therapy called ACT or EMDR, within a specialised mental health care setting
- The person's mental health condition must be considered stable, meaning there is no serious crisis present at the time — as assessed by a screener or treating practitioner
- A sufficient ability to read and understand Dutch is required in order to complete the questionnaires
- The person must not currently be taking part in any other research or intervention studies
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are frequently in crisis or who enter into a crisis during the study period
- People who are receiving mental health care under a compulsory or forced care order (referred to in the Netherlands as the Wvggz)

Primary endpoints
Change in the level of psychological flexibility (for the ACT arms), as measured by the AFQ-Y.; Change in the degree of overall symptomatic distress, as measured by the Youth Outcome questionnaire (YOQ); Change in post-traumatic symptoms (for the EMDR arms), as measured by the KJTS EMDR questionnaire; Change in the degree of societal recovery, as measured by the kidsscreen-27.
