Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are 40 years of age or older at the time of signing the consent form
• People who are planning to have a colonoscopy as a routine screening (not because of symptoms)
• People who are able to have blood drawn through a needle for research purposes
• People who are able and willing to provide blood samples within the 120 days before their colonoscopy
• People who are willing and able to follow the study schedule and meet all study requirements
• People who have signed the required consent forms before the study begins

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have any personal history of cancer of any kind (an exception may apply for people who had certain non-melanoma skin cancers surgically removed at least 12 months before signing the consent form — confirm with trial site)
• People who have had a full colonoscopy with adequate bowel preparation within the past 9 years
• People who are having a colonoscopy to investigate symptoms such as unexplained long-lasting diarrhea or visible rectal bleeding (such as blood in the stool) within the past 30 days
• People who have recently had a bowel cancer screening test within the intervals listed below:
  • A stool-based test (FOBT or FIT) within the past 12 months
  • A stool DNA test (FIT-DNA) within the past 36 months
  • A blood-based bowel cancer screening test within the past 36 months
  • A CT colonography scan within the past 5 years
  • A flexible sigmoidoscopy within the past 5 years
• People whose most recent colonoscopy found pre-cancerous growths (note: benign or hyperplastic polyps do not count as exclusions — confirm with trial site)
• People who have previously had part of their bowel surgically removed for any reason other than a condition called sigmoid diverticular disease
• People who have been diagnosed with, or have a personal history of, any of the following conditions that carry a high risk of bowel cancer:
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
  • Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), including the less severe form called attenuated FAP
  • Lynch Syndrome (also called hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer or HNPCC)
  • Other inherited cancer syndromes, including but not limited to Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, MYH-Associated Polyposis, Gardner's Syndrome, Turcot's Syndrome, Cowden's Syndrome, Juvenile Polyposis, Cronkhite-Canada Syndrome, Neurofibromatosis, and Familial Hyperplastic Polyposis
