Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to give their informed consent to participate
- People aged between 18 and 50 years old
- People who score 45 or below on a specific scale that measures reduced ability to feel pleasure (called the Dimensional Anhedonia Rating Scale)
- People with enough English reading and speaking ability to understand what the study involves and complete the questionnaires
- People who do not smoke, or who smoke 5 or fewer cigarettes per day
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with a mental health condition (other than anxiety disorder, persistent low mood, or depression) either in the past or currently
- People who have a close family member (parent, sibling, or child) with a severe psychiatric illness
- People who have taken any medication affecting the brain or central nervous system in the last 6 weeks, including as part of another study
- People who are currently taking blood pressure medication or heart medication, especially a type called aliskiren or beta blockers
- People who have been diagnosed with fluid depletion or dehydration conditions affecting the blood
- People who have a history of a serious allergic reaction causing rapid swelling (known as angioedema)
- People who have reduced kidney function (based on self-reported health history)
- People who have consistently very low blood pressure, measured as below 90/50 mmHg across at least three repeated measurements under standard conditions
- People who have ever had epilepsy or another neurological condition (such as autism or ADHD)
- People who have a history of serious infection throughout their body, or a significant ongoing condition affecting the liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, metabolism, hormone system, or similar, which in the investigator's opinion could put the person at risk or affect the study results
- People with significant hearing loss that is not corrected by a hearing device
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
