Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who weigh at least 45 kilograms (about 99 pounds).
• People whose body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) falls between 18.0 and just under 40.0.
• People who have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, have a blood sugar control reading (HbA1c) of 9% or below, and experience pain in both legs or feet caused by diabetic nerve damage (diabetic peripheral neuropathy).
• People whose daily pain scores, recorded over a 7-day baseline period, average at least 4 and no more than 9 out of 10, with scores that stay fairly consistent across those 7 days.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who missed recording their daily pain score on more than 3 days during the 7-day baseline period.
• People who have nerve or sensory problems in their limbs that are caused by something other than diabetic peripheral neuropathy (confirm with trial site for the full list of conditions that apply).
• Other criteria defined in the study protocol may also apply, which the trial site can clarify.
