Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 40 and 80 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) that is considered mild to moderate in severity.
- Your Parkinson's medications and doses have not changed in the last month before joining the study.
- You are able to understand the study and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with dementia or scored below 24 on a standard memory and thinking test.
- You have a serious psychiatric condition, such as severe depression or psychosis that has not responded to treatment, or you have ever been admitted to a psychiatric or mental health facility (regardless of when or why).
- You have a known or suspected allergy to cannabinoids (cannabis-related substances) or any inactive ingredients in the study medication.
- You have a history of drug or alcohol dependence.
- You have taken dopamine-blocking medications within the last 180 days before joining the study.
- You have used amphetamines, cocaine, or certain antidepressants called MAO-A inhibitors within the last 90 days.
- You have taken certain specific medications — including valproic acid, felbamate, high-dose niacin, high-dose nicotinamide, isoniazid, ketoconazole, or clobazam — within the last 90 days (confirm with trial site).
- Your blood test results show certain abnormal levels that suggest an unstable medical condition (confirm specific values with trial site).
- You have moderate to severe liver disease.
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You are a woman of childbearing age and are not willing to use at least one reliable form of contraception during the study and for at least four weeks after finishing treatment.
- You have previously had surgery for Parkinson's disease, such as deep brain stimulation or a procedure to create a lesion in the brain.
- You were diagnosed with Parkinson's disease less than 5 years ago.
