Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 90 years old
- People diagnosed with septic shock, meaning they have a serious infection that has caused a significant decline in organ function, require medication to keep their blood pressure stable, and have had an elevated blood lactate level (a sign of poor circulation) within the last 24 hours
- People showing signs that their body is not circulating blood well enough, such as poor blood flow to the hands and feet, low urine output, low oxygen levels in the blood, or confusion — with at least 2 of these 4 signs present
- People whose body is likely to respond to receiving extra fluids, as confirmed by one of several specific bedside tests measuring how the heart responds to fluid (confirm with trial site for details on these tests)

Who may not be able to join:
- People whose heart cannot be clearly seen using an ultrasound scan through the chest wall
- People whose actual body weight is more than 160 kg
- People with sodium levels in the blood that are too high (above 150 mEq/L)
- People with a condition called cardiac tamponade, where fluid around the heart is putting dangerous pressure on it
- People with serious uncorrected heart valve disease or a life-threatening irregular heartbeat
- People who are expected to pass away before the trial procedures could be completed
- People who urgently need kidney dialysis or blood filtration within 2 hours due to dangerously low blood acidity or very high potassium levels
- People with severe liver dysfunction, indicated by a very high bilirubin level in the blood (above 120 umol/L)
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
