Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease or a related condition sometimes called "atypical Parkinson's"
- Your eyesight prescription (glasses or contacts) falls within a moderate range — between -6 and +4 diopters in both eyes
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
- You are able to describe from your own experience that you have daily episodes of "freezing" while walking (where your feet feel stuck) and/or shuffling/speeding up uncontrollably
- You are able to walk for at least 5 minutes, with or without a walking aid, and if you are aged 70 or older, this level of activity is something you are already used to doing
Who may not be able to join:
- You have another known neurological condition (other than Parkinson's or a related condition)
- You are currently taking certain medications or substances — such as sedatives (e.g. benzodiazepines), alcohol, stimulants, or recreational drugs — that the trial team believe could affect your eye movements or your ability to take part (Parkinson's medications are not included in this restriction)
- You are unable to understand or follow the study instructions, for example due to significant memory or thinking difficulties
- You have an injury or health condition (unrelated to Parkinson's) that affects your eye movements or your balance
- You have any skin problems, wounds, or broken skin on your calf or behind your knee
- You do not have access to WiFi at home, or your home WiFi connection is unreliable
