Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are an adult (age 18–65) who has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes
- You use insulin injections or an insulin pump to manage your diabetes
- You currently use a continuous glucose monitor (CGM)
- If you have kidney disease: You have been told your kidneys are working at a mildly reduced level (eGFR between 60–90), AND you have a moderate amount of protein in your urine (confirm with trial site)
- If you do not have kidney disease: Your kidneys are working normally (eGFR above 90) AND you do not have extra protein in your urine (confirm with trial site)
- Your blood sugar control levels (based on CGM readings and HbA1c results) fall within one of two specific ranges that the trial team will assess
Who may not be able to join:
- Your hemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells) is below 9 (confirm with trial site)
- You have used certain diabetes or blood sugar medications (GLP-1 agonists, DPP4 inhibitors, or SGLT-2 inhibitors) in the last 30 days
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- You are currently taking steroid medications
- You have been diagnosed with cancer, or have an autoimmune or immune-suppressing condition
- You have reported heavy alcohol use or recreational drug use
- You have any other condition that your doctor believes could affect your safety or certain immune cells in your blood (confirm with trial site)
