Who might be able to join this trial:
- Married mothers pregnant for the first time, aged between 13 and 19 years, who are attending pregnancy check-ups at the hospitals selected for this trial
- Carrying a single baby, with a pregnancy that is between 28 and 30 weeks along
- Having a pregnancy with no complications that would prevent a vaginal birth
- Planning to give birth at one of the selected hospitals, planning to attend postnatal check-ups there, and living close enough to those hospitals to do so for at least 12 weeks after giving birth
Who may not be able to join:
- People who report a past or current history of mental health problems
- People who have already taken part in a similar support or intervention programme
- People who have serious medical or pregnancy-related health problems
- People whose baby has been diagnosed with a congenital condition (a health condition present from birth) before the trial begins
