Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
  • You have colon cancer that scans (CT or MRI) show has grown into the fatty tissue around the colon by more than 5mm, or has spread through the outer lining of the colon or into nearby organs
  • Your colon cancer has been confirmed as a specific type called adenocarcinoma through a tissue sample (biopsy)
  • You are at least 18 years old (any gender)
  • Your tumor has not caused serious complications such as a rupture, a blockage, or bleeding that cannot be controlled
  • The tumor is located far enough from the back passage (more than 12cm away from the anus)
  • You are generally well enough to carry out light daily activities (confirm with trial site for exact fitness level required)
  • Your blood tests show your bone marrow, liver, kidneys, and blood clotting are working well enough to meet the study's requirements
  • You have never previously received any cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had an allergic reaction in the past to monoclonal antibodies, HDACi medicines, or capecitabine
  • You have previously received treatments that affect the immune system's response to tumours, including certain immunotherapy or HDACi treatments
  • You have taken immunosuppressive drugs or steroid medicines (to suppress the immune system) within the 2 weeks before starting the study
  • You received a live vaccine within 4 weeks before starting the study
  • You had major surgery or a serious injury within 4 weeks before starting the study
  • You received certain immune-boosting therapies or Chinese herbal/traditional medicines with anti-tumour purposes within 2 weeks before starting the study
  • You have an active autoimmune disease, or a history of one (such as certain lung, gut, liver, thyroid, or kidney conditions caused by the immune system attacking the body)
  • Your cancer is a specific subtype known as dMMR or MSI-H (confirm with trial site)
  • You have heart symptoms or a heart condition that is not well controlled
  • You had a serious infection within 4 weeks before starting the study, or have active tuberculosis
  • You have active hepatitis B or hepatitis C
  • You have been diagnosed with another cancer within the past 5 years (though certain minor skin cancers or cervical pre-cancers that have been fully treated may still be eligible — confirm with trial site)
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a history of a weakened immune system, including HIV, other immune deficiency conditions, or have had an organ transplant or bone marrow transplant
  • The study doctor decides there are other reasons that would make participation unsafe or difficult for you, such as serious mental illness, alcohol or drug misuse, or other significant personal circumstances
