Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older who do not currently have active cancer
- People who have not previously had surgery to remove part of the colon or rectum
- People who carry a confirmed harmful or likely harmful change (variant) in one of the following genes linked to hereditary cancer risk: MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, or PMS2 (Lynch syndrome); APC (FAP syndrome); biallelic MUTYH; STK11 (Peutz-Jeghers syndrome); or PTEN, CDH1, CHEK2, TP53, BMPR1A, or SMAD4 (Juvenile polyposis syndrome)
- People who are able to give informed consent to participate and are able to undergo a colonoscopy (a camera examination of the bowel)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had major surgery that may have caused narrowing in the digestive tract, which could block a small camera capsule from passing through safely
- People who have previously had radiation treatment to the abdomen or pelvis, as this can increase the risk of bowel blockage
- People whose gene variant is considered to have a low likelihood of causing disease (reduced penetrance), or where the significance of the variant is uncertain, as assessed by a genetics specialist
- People who have significant physical limitations affecting general health or mobility (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant
- People who have a pacemaker, artificial heart valve, cochlear implant, or any other internal electronic or electrical medical device
- People who have insulin-dependent diabetes
- People who require deep sedation (a deeper level of unconsciousness beyond standard sedation) to undergo a colonoscopy
