Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 17 or older
  • People who can read and speak English well enough to take part in group activities and learn from online materials
  • People who have access to an internet-connected device (such as a computer or phone) and a private space to use it
  • People who have been referred to NHS Talking Therapies (NHS-TT) services
  • People who have been assessed by a qualified mental health professional and considered suitable for high-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including having a low risk of harm to themselves or others
  • People who are currently on a waiting list for high-intensity CBT and are not receiving any other psychological therapy at the same time (people taking medication for mental health who are also waiting for talking therapy may still be considered)
  • People experiencing symptoms of one or more conditions such as depression, generalised anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, OCD-related conditions, body image concerns, or trauma-related conditions

Who may not be able to join:

  • People aged 16 or younger
  • People who are not able to speak or read English fluently
  • People who do not have access to an internet-connected device or a private space to use it
  • People who are not connected to NHS Talking Therapies (NHS-TT) services
  • People who have been assessed by a qualified mental health professional and found not to be suitable for high-intensity CBT, for example due to their current mental health condition or because of an identified acute risk of suicide at the time of assessment
  • People who are already receiving high-intensity psychotherapy or another form of psychological treatment, such as private therapy or counselling
  • People who, at the time of their initial assessment, were found to have symptoms of eating disorders, substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, or similar conditions
