Who might be able to join this trial:
For mothers:
- The biological mother of the child, regardless of gender identity
- Someone who provides care for the participating child at least half of the time
- Someone currently experiencing a clinically significant level of depression, based on a score of 16 or higher on a standard depression questionnaire called the CES-D
- Aged 18 or older
For children:
- Children aged 4 to 6 years old
Who may not be able to join:
For mothers:
- Someone with a history of bipolar disorder at any point in their life
- Someone with a history of a psychotic disorder at any point in their life
For children:
- Children whose behaviour scores on a standard checklist (called the CBCL) are above a certain threshold for emotional or behavioural difficulties (confirm with trial site)
- Children with a history of any psychiatric illness
- Children with a history of a neurodevelopmental condition (such as autism or ADHD)
- Children with a history of a neurological condition (such as epilepsy or brain injury)
