Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP), either through genetic testing or based on clinical symptoms.
  • People who are older than 4 years and younger than 70 years of age.
  • People whose thigh bone (femur) measures more than 23 cm in length (confirm with trial site).
  • People who are able to walk on their own indoors, whether or not they use a walking aid such as a cane or walker.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have had botulinum toxin (Botox) injections or surgery on their lower limbs in the past 6 months.
  • People who have severe tightening or shortening of the muscles in their lower limbs.
  • People who have severe osteoporosis (very weak or brittle bones).
  • People who have open or unhealed skin wounds on their lower limbs.
  • People who have an unstable heart or cardiovascular condition.
  • People who have a neurological condition that is sudden (acute) or getting worse over time (progressive), separate from HSP.
  • People who have significant behavioural difficulties.
