Who may be able to join

  • People who are willing to take part voluntarily and provide written consent to join the study.
  • People aged between 18 and 70 years, of any sex.
  • People who have been confirmed through a tissue or cell sample to have advanced or metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer (Stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) without certain gene mutations that drive cancer growth.
  • People who have at least one measurable area of cancer that has not been treated with local therapies such as radiotherapy, based on standard measurement guidelines.
  • People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls within a specific range on a standard medical scale (a score of 0 or 1 on the ECOG scale, meaning fully active to restricted in strenuous activity only).
  • People whose life expectancy is at least 3 months.
  • People who have not previously received any systemic cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy), or people whose cancer has come back at least 6 months after completing adjuvant chemotherapy.
  • People whose blood, liver, kidney, and heart function meet specific minimum standards when tested within 7 days before starting treatment, including adequate red and white blood cell and platelet counts, liver enzyme and bilirubin levels within acceptable ranges, adequate kidney function, sufficient protein levels in the blood, and a heart pumping function of at least 50%.
  • People who can provide a tissue sample for biomarker testing (such as PD-L1); a fresh sample is preferred, but a stored sample collected within the past 2 years may also be accepted in a specific format.

Who may not be able to join

Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.

  • People who have had a severe allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to humanised antibodies or fusion protein drugs in the past.
  • People who have a known allergy to recombinant human endostatin or to any ingredient in the antibody preparations used in this trial.
  • People who have been diagnosed with an immune system deficiency, or who have been taking corticosteroids or other immune-suppressing medications within 14 days before the first dose (low doses of corticosteroids, such as 10 mg per day or less of prednisone or equivalent, are permitted).
  • People who have active, known, or suspected autoimmune diseases such as lung inflammation, colitis, hepatitis, or certain other immune-related conditions — though some exceptions may apply (confirm with trial site).
  • People who have serious pre-existing heart conditions, including heart failure, uncontrolled serious irregular heartbeats, unstable chest pain (angina), a recent heart attack, or severe heart valve disease.
  • People who have previously been treated with anti-angiogenic drugs, which are medications that block the growth of blood vessels feeding tumours (examples include bevacizumab, sunitinib, sorafenib, and similar drugs).
  • People who are planning to receive other systemic cancer treatments (such as chemotherapy) within 4 weeks before being assigned to a study group, or during the study itself.
  • People who have active hepatitis B or active hepatitis C, based on specific blood test results showing active virus levels.
  • People who have active tuberculosis, or who have had an active tuberculosis infection within the past year even if it was treated; people with a tuberculosis history of more than one year may be considered only if their prior treatment was judged to have been appropriate (confirm with trial site).
  • People who have brain metastases causing symptoms, or whose brain metastasis symptoms have only been controlled for less than 2 months.
  • People who have had a major surgery, a surgical biopsy through an incision, or a significant physical injury within 28 days before being assigned to a study group.
  • People whose cancer is growing into or very close to major blood vessels, creating a high risk of serious bleeding, as assessed by the study doctors.
  • People who have a history of abnormal bleeding of any severity, or who have unhealed wounds, ulcers, or fractures, or who experienced a significant bleeding event within 4 weeks before being assigned to a study group.
  • People who have had a blood clot event — such as a stroke, a mini-stroke (transient ischemic attack), deep vein thrombosis, or a pulmonary embolism — within the past 6 months.
  • People who have any other health condition that the study doctors believe would put them at significant risk or prevent them from completing the study.
