- Adults aged 18 to 65 years (inclusive) at the time of screening, either male or female.
- People who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (a type of bowel disease) for at least 3 months before screening, confirmed through standard clinical, imaging, camera examination of the bowel, or tissue sample records — or, if those records are not available, confirmed by a letter from the person's general practitioner.
Who may not be able to join

- People who have a history of a condition associated with significant weakening of the immune system, or who have taken immune-suppressing or immune-modifying medications continuously for more than 14 days within the 3 months before Visit 3 (note: people taking oral medications for ulcerative colitis, including steroids or immune-modifying drugs specifically for that condition, are not excluded on this basis).
