Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with at least one of the following conditions: heart failure, irregular heart rhythms, chronic kidney disease, coronary artery disease, a previous stroke or mini-stroke (TIA), or diabetes.
- People who visit a primary care provider for any reason and do not have any of the conditions listed above (this is a smaller "healthy" group, limited to 500 people across the whole study).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who cannot read, speak, or understand English.
- People with cognitive impairments that prevent them from giving informed consent or signing required privacy forms.
- People with cognitive impairments that would make it difficult to consistently wear and care for a wearable device.
- People who are pregnant.
- People who have tattoos, scars, or skin conditions on their wrist that would block a wrist-worn device from taking pulse or blood flow readings.
- People with neurological conditions that may affect the quality of device readings, such as hand tremors.
- People who have a pacemaker.
- People with known allergies to watch or wristband materials.
- People who have plans to permanently move out of the state of Louisiana during the study period.
- People who do not have an existing medical history with one of the participating institutions.
- People who do not have a compatible smartphone (iPhone running iOS 13 or newer, or an Android phone running Android 11 or newer).
