Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 50 and 69 years of age who have taken part in a bowel cancer screening program using a stool (poo) sample test
- Both men and women are eligible
- People whose stool sample test (called a FIT test) came back positive, meaning a certain level of blood was detected in the stool sample
- People who have given written agreement to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not understand the Italian language
- People who have previously had their entire large bowel removed, or have had bowel surgery that removed part of the bowel
- People who have had a colonoscopy (a camera examination of the bowel) within the past 12 months
- People for whom a colonoscopy would not be medically safe (confirm with trial site)
- People for whom sedation or anaesthesia (medication to relax or put someone to sleep during a procedure) would not be medically safe
- People who have previously been diagnosed with bowel (colorectal) cancer
- People who have an inherited condition that significantly increases the risk of bowel cancer, such as familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), Lynch syndrome, or related hereditary conditions
- People who have an inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
