Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had ongoing one-sided neck pain with nerve symptoms (such as pain, numbness, or tingling radiating from the neck) lasting between 3 months and 1 year
- People aged between 40 and 55 years, of any sex
- People with a body mass index (BMI) under 30 kg/m² (a measure of body weight relative to height)
- People with age-related wear and tear of the cervical spine (neck) at specific levels (C5-C6 or C6-C7), confirmed by an MRI scan of the neck
Who may not be able to join:
- People with spinal cord compression in the neck causing wider nervous system symptoms affecting movement, sensation, or coordination
- People whose neck movement is limited due to a condition present from birth, muscle tightening, or bone blocking
- People who have previously had surgery on the neck or shoulder, or who have had a significant injury to those areas
- People with instability in the neck caused by a structural problem, such as a torn ligament or a slipped vertebra
- People with psychological conditions that affect their ability to follow instructions, or those who do not show a clear directional preference in their symptoms (confirm with trial site)
- People with insufficient blood flow through the arteries at the base of the brain, or with nerve damage caused by diabetes
- People with other health conditions that affect their ability to be physically active, such as a history of stroke or severe heart disease
- People with double crush syndrome (nerve compression at more than one point) or thoracic outlet syndrome (nerve or blood vessel compression at the shoulder/neck junction)
