  • People who are not willing to take part in the study
  • People who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition by a doctor
  • People who score at medium or higher levels of stress or anxiety on the DASS-21 but prefer to receive psychiatric support before trying ear massage
  • People who are already receiving regular professional psychological support
  • People who are currently taking antidepressants, anticonvulsant medications, or sleeping pills
  • People who are pregnant or suspected of being pregnant
  • People who have a condition affecting the physical structure of the outer ear (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have an active infection, or broken or damaged skin in the ear area, such as ulcers, eczema, hives, or surgical wounds
  • People who have visual, hearing, or speech impairments
  • People who are already regularly using complementary or alternative therapies for stress, anxiety, or sleep, such as acupuncture, facial massage, herbal therapy, meditation, or breathing exercises
