- Parents of children diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes who are members of specific online communities, including the Mersin Diabetics WhatsApp group, the Type 1 Diabetics association on Instagram, or community forums and groups run by diabetes education nurses and dietitians — during the period between February 2025 and July 2025
- People who are willing to take part and have signed a consent form agreeing to participate
- People who score at medium or higher levels of stress (a score of 10 or more) or anxiety (a score of 8 or more) on a standard questionnaire called the DASS-21, and who prefer to try ear massage before seeking psychiatric support
- People who have access to the internet and a phone, tablet, or computer in order to take part in online training sessions
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not willing to take part in the study
- People who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition by a doctor
- People who score at medium or higher levels of stress or anxiety on the DASS-21 but prefer to receive psychiatric support before trying ear massage
- People who are already receiving regular professional psychological support
- People who are currently taking antidepressants, anticonvulsant medications, or sleeping pills
- People who are pregnant or suspected of being pregnant
- People who have a condition affecting the physical structure of the outer ear (confirm with trial site)
- People who have an active infection, or broken or damaged skin in the ear area, such as ulcers, eczema, hives, or surgical wounds
- People who have visual, hearing, or speech impairments
- People who are already regularly using complementary or alternative therapies for stress, anxiety, or sleep, such as acupuncture, facial massage, herbal therapy, meditation, or breathing exercises
