Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with unipolar depression (mild to severe) and are being treated as an outpatient (not staying in a hospital)
- You are 18 years old or older
- You are willing and able to use a mobile app called EmoDTx on your own device
- You can read, write, and understand French
- You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently staying in a hospital
- You are taking very high doses of benzodiazepines (a type of anxiety or sleep medication) — more than 75% of the maximum daily recommended amount
- You are taking very high doses of antipsychotic or neuroleptic medications — more than 75% of the maximum daily recommended amount
- You have already tried 10 or more different medication treatments without improvement
- You have attempted suicide in the past 6 months and are currently having thoughts of suicide
- You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder
- Your depression is severe enough to require hospitalisation
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia (confirm with trial site)
- You have been diagnosed with a major neurocognitive disorder, such as severe dementia (confirm with trial site)
- You are unable to read or write
- You are under guardianship, legally restricted in your freedom, or living in a care or social institution for reasons unrelated to medical research (confirm with trial site)
- You do not have access to a smartphone or a computer with an internet connection
- You do not wish to sign the consent form
- You are already taking part in another interventional clinical trial
