Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease (a type of dementia) confirmed through standard diagnostic criteria and specific biological markers
- People who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease according to recognised medical society criteria, are at a stable stage of the disease, and have been on the same medications for at least the past 4 weeks

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have ongoing long-term or inflammatory conditions affecting the mouth or oral cavity
- People who have other significant health conditions affecting the whole body, including cancer or active infectious diseases
- People who are not able to independently give written consent to participate in the trial
- People whose Parkinson's symptoms are caused by something other than Parkinson's disease itself — such as blood vessel problems, medications, brain tumours, or metabolic conditions — or who show signs that suggest a related but different condition
- People with Parkinson's disease who also have signs of significant cognitive decline, based on a score below 15 on a standard memory and thinking test called the MoCA (confirm with trial site)
