Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are older than 18 years of age
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with a specific form of multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer) — including types that produce little or no detectable protein, or where the disease has spread outside the bone marrow — diagnosed using internationally recognised criteria
- People who have received no more than one course of treatment for their condition
Who may not be able to join:
- People for whom MRI or a type of nuclear imaging scan (PET/CT using a radioactive sugar called 18F-FDG) is not considered safe, according to the guidelines of the trial site
- People who are pregnant (the trial site will check this according to their standard procedures)
- People who are unable to lie still on their stomach for at least 30 minutes during an MRI or PET/CT scan
- People who are unwilling to use contraception during the study, or who are currently breastfeeding
- People who are unable to give their own informed consent to participate
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient in the investigational imaging agent used in this trial (called [68Ga]Ga-PentixaFor)
- People who have also been diagnosed with another blood cancer at the same time, such as lymphoma or leukaemia
